We figured since most of you have a lovely long Easter weekend, you may be feeling a little bored, and in need of some mental stimulation!  So we surfed around and found the things we think are the most interesting about Easter!

1.) Vegreville, Canada is the site of the largest Easter egg in the world. The Easter egg or Ukrainian 'Pysanka,' was constructed in 1975 to commemorate early Ukrainian settlements in an area east of Edmonton. It weighed 5,000 pounds, and was 25.7 feet long.

2.)Pysanka is a specific term used for the practice of Easter egg painting.

3.) Most children (74%) eat the ears of their chocolate bunny first. 13% eat the feet first, and 10% eat the tails first.  Which do you eat first? Find out what your "Chocolate Bunny Eating Style" says about
                                                     you!  Click HERE.

4.) The initial baskets of Easter were given the appearance of bird's nests.

5.) By tradition, it was obligatory (or at least lucky) for churchgoers to wear some bright new piece of clothing - at least an Easter bonnet, if not a complete new outfit.

6.) 88 percent of adults carry on the Easter tradition of creating Easter baskets for their kids & 90 percent of adults hope for their own treat from the Easter Bunny.

7.) 90 million chocolate Easter bunnies are made for Easter each year.

8.) 82 percent of Americans say they would prefer a chocolate or candy bunny for Easter, while only 4 percent say they would prefer a live rabbit.  (I have heard they make very good composts though)

9.) The world’s largest jar of jelly beans weighed 6,050 pounds.

10.) When asked, most children will tell you that the red jelly bean is their favourite.

11.) To tell if an egg is raw or hard boiled, spin it. The solid hard boiled egg will spin easily. The
liquids in the raw egg will make it wobble.

12.) Only 2% of cats asked will honestly admit to wanting to be a bunny instead.   Pica and I are not in that two percentile.  We are very happy being cats!

Still bored? How about some good old fashioned Easter Colouring? You can even load these images into MS Paint or Paintbrush and do them electronically! Or print them off and use some crayons!  Click HERE.

Happy Easter everyone ... don't forget to share some of that yummy Easter food with your favourite cat ... but remember, chocolate should only be enjoyed by humans!
